Weight vest and backpack with books.  We don't own a scale, but I tried for 45 lbs.  We'll see if my calves work tomorrow.  Last time this happened, I couldn't walk for days.

I'm so glad you get this time to train up! But I'm bummed it makes you too tired, when I am such a night owl!

Ouch that sounds like a good workout, hows the calves now :-)

IMPRESSIVE and WHY???

From Teena on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 21:31:33 from 67.177.20.13

Backpack with books!!!

Way to improvise!

(Crazy ... but nice!)

To prepare for further testing for the combat rescue job...

We should take your backpack to the gym and weigh it, Mike. And then ask that guy on the stairs at the gym why he works out with a giant backpack, too.

From Teena on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 21:38:34 from 67.177.20.13

Hey there Rachel.

Okay, what do you mean further testing for the combat rescue job?

From kungfublonde on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 21:49:52 from 64.203.113.50

Hey Teena :)

Mike posted it about a week ago, and Burt added links I sent him to the comments... I'll see if I can dig those up and send them to you....

From Teena on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 21:51:22 from 67.177.20.13

Very cool. Thanks!!!

I'll see if I can find them on his blog. :)

From kungfublonde on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 21:56:02 from 64.203.113.50

I sent them to you. That's what all the pull ups were about... and will continue to be about. Although needelss to say, he KILLED in the pull up category. So now he's working on other things. Like running with a 45 lb rucksack on his back!

From Burt on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 22:25:24 from 98.167.151.26

Rachel - have Mike tackle the guy at the gym at the legs, then you go high and see what's in the backpack. In this day and age, you never can be too sure.

From kungfublonde on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 22:33:54 from 64.203.113.50

Burt, I was just going to ask, "Excuse me, why are you working out with that huge backpack?"

But we'll call your idea Plan B.

From Teena on Wed, Jun 24, 2009 at 11:05:14 from 67.177.20.13

Man oh man oh man oh man!!! I just watched the stuff you sent me Rachel.

Mike, You are AMAZING!!! Wait, you are way more than amazing. That footage was insane!!! Seriously ... I'm trying to think of adequate words to describe how in awe I am.

You are unbelievably tough.

So ... I take it that you were one of the remaining 5?

Seriously, you are incredible!

Thank you so much Rachel for digging that up for me.

WOW!!!!

From montelepsy on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 01:26:35 from 64.203.113.50

Thanks for the Father's day well wishing folks! I had a blast with Rachel and the girls. And I fell asleep outside with my tee shirt, making my farmer's tan a cosmic farmer's tan.

Calves are totally recovered :)

Hon, That's not a backpack full of books... I'm just happy to see you!

I guess that didn't make sense, but I don't care. I'm a dad and I can make corny dad jokes whenever I want.

From montelepsy on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 01:27:34 from 64.203.113.50

Yes Teena. I was one of the five, but the commander wants to take another look at me before hiring me. So I'll be doing it over :)
