I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

Attempted a tempo

1 mile wu/ 1 mile cd

7:51, 7:43, 7:02

I have no idea of how to find my pace.  Don't know if I started out too slow or ended up too fast.  No significant wind.  The temperature cooperated.  I felt good starting out.  Felt like the same effort throughout.  I concentrated on pumping my arms faster at the end though, but that shouldn't account for me speeding up that much from the begginning, right?  Maybe speedy arms is the secret...

I have the same issue during tempo runs... you should post a question on the discussion board to see if the experts give us some good insights.

And what's this about choosing spin class over BJJ? Have you become a pollo?

From Burt on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 19:39:23

I'm the only pollo around here. But that seems like quite the finish. I'll have to try the speedy arm technique.

From Camille on Thu, Jan 22, 2009 at 13:21:11

Speedy arms, aye? Maybe I'll have to try that. If anything, I'm sure it's fun to watch! Nice pace. You totally rock!

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 12:31:58

WOW, maybe I should try speedy arms??? You are fast!

What the heck is a pollo?

From Burt on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 13:21:18

El Pollo Loco.

I took off of BJJ for a whole week. It's good being a chicken :) It's good to be able to turn my chicken neck without it hurting too.

I will not make myself appear any dumber than I already do. I still have no clue what you are talking about.

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 16:07:27

Ah, you're so cute, Kelli. (said like someone talking to a puppy) Pollo is the Spanish word for chicken.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 16:11:46

Oops. That last entry was mine? How did I do that? Now I'm losing my marbles. Good thing I clarified or Kelli is really going to lose it.

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 17:41:10

I call myself cute all of the time, in fact, every time I pass a mirror!

Okay, chicken. I get it now. Wish I knew Spanish. It would be very useful in life!

From montelepsy on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 23:59:26

You guys cheer me up.

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 24, 2009 at 16:28:18

How do you say chicken legs? I could give myself a new nickname!!!
