I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

Turkey tastes better when you run that fast.

From Lucia on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 15:16:42

Poor innocent little turkey... all her dreams and future plans, shattered to satisfy your pallate... ;)

From Kelli on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 16:14:55

Did I cook it??

From Camille on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 22:10:23

Nice work out! i'm a dark turkey meat eater... was there some good dark meat in there?

From montelepsy on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 07:43:11

You are what you eat, Burt, so I'm going to start eating fast turkeys.

Kelli, do you have a recipe for roadrunners?

Lucia, for you I will only eat animals that hope and dream of being eaten.

Why yes, Camille, there was and I am like you a dark meat lover. The turkey was so good I ate the white meat too.

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 16:53:06

I would never cook a Roadrunner, that was my Elementary School mascot!!

From Camille on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:36:05

Kelli - the roadrunner was my jr. high mascot. You'd love my elementary school mascot... remember, I live in Arizona... in the freakin desert. In Elementary school, our mascot was a Polar Bear. :o)

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:46:19

Camille, what were they thinking? A polar bear? I bet you had fun with that.

From Camille on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:55:27

I didn't think anything of it until I was much older. I went to Robert Frost Elementary. We were the Frost Polar Bears.

From montelepsy on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 04:00:13

My high school mascot was an oil can :(

From Camille on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 10:29:15

Go fighting oil cans! LOL

Their is a community college here that has a mascot of an artichoke. LOL

From Kelli on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 19:29:04

Mike, you are kidding, right?

Let's see, I was a Roadrunner, a Bobcat, and a Husky. Mine are all pretty cool.

From Burt on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 22:02:55

Roadrunner, Mountaineer, Bobcat, Bulldog!

From montelepsy on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 22:33:57

Unfortunately not. Richmond Oilers. Mission Bears (Camille, at least yours was specific, ours was just any old bear) and Armijo somethings. I went to 3 high schools. I don't recall any junior high mascots or elementary school ones either.

Kelli, Burt,

Did you guys go to the same elementary? Roadrunner doesn't seem very common. Meep, meep.

From Kelli on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 17:24:39

I was just thinking the same thing about a Raodrunner for a mascot. I thought we were really unique at our elementary school, but I guess not!

Burt just wants to be like me, so he added Roadrunner and Bobcat.

From Burt on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 19:24:26

I do want to be like Kelli. But roadrunners aren't all that uncommon in Arizona. State bird of New Mexico, but I saw plenty of roadrunners as a roadrunner. Never saw any bobcats as a bobcat. Saw a few bulldogs as a bulldog. And I always imagined a mountaineer was a hippy backpacking hobo that lived in the Hualapai Mountains. Glad I never saw one of those.

From Kelli on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 20:02:18

I do not think there are any roadrunners in Utah, so where that name came from I do not know. I have seen bobcats at the zoo and have nightmares about seeing them while I run---as they run after me. And, well, a husky is not all that uncommon!

I forgot my college mascot---the Ute. It was too politically incorrect to talk about any of that, though.

From Burt on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 20:15:29

Ah yes, college. Can't say that I've ever seen a sun devil.

From Kelli on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 20:36:36

I am sure you have, you just did not know it.

From Camille on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 22:04:21

Okay, my turn...

Elementary - Polar Bear (extremely common in the desert...)

Jr. High - Roadrunner (I actually DO see these quite often)

High School - Rabit. Yep... Mesa Rabbits... We are the fierce fighting "bunny rabbits".

Jr. College - Firehalks... are they really such a thing?

College - Sun Devil... need I ellaborate?

From Lucia on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 22:06:31

Gooooooo THUNDERBIRDS!!!

From Kelli on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 23:26:15

RABBIT? That is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as Polar Bears in AZ.

From montelepsy on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 04:11:22

After I do something noteworthy and get a high school named after me, I'm going to insist our mascot is a polar hippie.

From Burt on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 10:49:23

Camille - what you need to elaborate on is how you were the valedictorian of your college graduating class with your atrocious spelling.

From montelepsy on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 12:16:48

Camille, I bet you bribed the valedictorian-appointing committee with your baking. I know I would sell my vote for one of those cakes.

From Kelli on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 18:08:47

I would have sold my vote as well.

Polar hippie, huh? hmmm, when I am famous what will they call the school? I have to think on that.
