Even my stubble is sore from yesterday.   Not acutally the hairs, but my chin is tender.   Is it from all the groaning and pleading to make the pain end?  Will I end up with a buff jaw if I continue?

Work had softball, bingo and karaoke for our day off.  I passed and did Cals, Spin, Abs and an easy run instead.

Very interresting what is sore after yoga ;) Your day off sounds fun. Why is Karaoke so fun? cals NO FUN!!!

From montelepsy on Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 15:50:10

Karaoke is very awkward for me. You just don't know when it's okay to laugh.

Cals can have fun names though. I did some nipples today. :)

With Karaoke it has to be OK to laugh the whole time! We had a party once, about 150 people. We had everyone bring a dessert for an auction. We told them that no money would be needed. Well when it was time for dessert we told them the deal- I held up a dessert and whomever would sing karaoke got it. We did cupcakes and cookies first to get the kids out of the way and then the battle began. It was AWESOME!!!

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!!!! YOU ROCK AND I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE, CONTINUE TO DO, AND PLAN ON DOING IN THE FUTURE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY AND PROTECT MY FAMILY. I ALSO APPRECIATE ALL THE SACRIFICES YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY HAS MADE!

Okay, back to the regularly scheduled program...

I can't believe you passed on Karaoke. Are you okay?

Hey Mike I heard from Rachel that you served in Wurzburg Germany? I lived there for about 6 months. Its a cool little town with lots of history and the Rhein. I lived just kitty corner from the train station. There is a Hard Rock Cafe on the corner and my building was across the street from that. It was a quiet town, compared to Karlsruhe or Munich or Stuttgart.

By the way Im still waiting back from my friend in Nebraska who has run that Iowa race. Ill get you the details.

Walter got my info mixed up :) I told him you were born there and then you were in Germany before you went to Iraq. I think he wasn't really paying attention because he was distracted by lazy employees and a broken dwon truck and surgery recovery. You'd think he'd focus more on listening to my super interesting stories about my husband, right??

TOO MUCH STRESS! lol I would be amuzed to try speaking German with Mike! You know there are several of us on here. James who is Lybi's Husband speaks German and there is an english guy on here living in Germany and he's been blogging also.

Marion,

I would sing for homemade brownies.

Thanks Camille. I've done karaoke once, in a bar in Alabama, but the circumstances were different. We had been deprived of fun for 12 weeks, so I was more prone to do things I wouldn't normally do.

Walter,

I was a kid in Germany. I went to an American school. We had German class, but I don't remember anything, except dumkoff and poopkoff (family friendly version). I liked it because you could buy firecrackers year round. Hated it because I missed Saturday morning cartoons.

Wurzburg is Germany's Salem. They're infamous for their witchcraft trials. Unlike Salem, they don't talk about it.

Mike ...

You did all of that on your day off!! WOW!!! Sorry about your stubble ... but buff chins are AWESOME -- totally worth any pain you may encounter.

(I'm with you, it's hard to know when it's appropriate to laugh ... some people take it so seriously and those are the ones that make your body shake as you are desperately trying to control the laugh from manifesting itself.)

I'm going to look like Popeye!

From Teena on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 08:32:28

You're strong to the finish when you eats your spinach - your Popeye the sailor man! toot toot (pipe)

(Karaoke that!!) (Cake please!!)

I can't believe I forgot to say happy Veteran's day!!! A little late, but I had to, especially as a brand new American. Thank you for all you do!

I want to sing karaoke before my braces come off. I think it'd be the funniest thing ever! Can you imagine a girl with braces that can't open her mouth plus with an accent trying to sing "Don't stop Believing"???

From montelepsy on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 09:05:11

Teena, I'm more like Wimpy. I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

Thanks Lucia. Congrats on becoming a new citizen. When did that happen?

My imagination doesn't stretch that far. It's a good thing we live in the age of camcorders! Go for it!

From Lucia on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 09:09:49

Thanks - it happened a year ago tomorrow! But I voted for the first time on this election, so I like to keep saying it's new!

I simply cannot imagine how all of you must feel being away from your families for so long.

I'll see what I can do about the karaoke... :)

From montelepsy on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 09:19:17

Not good, but it makes homecomings very nice.

Do you have anything planned for your 1-year citizenship anniversay?

From walter on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 09:35:01

Was the Hard rock cafe there then.? proba bly not. Did you ever go up to that Castle on the hill across the river? I cant remember the name of it but it was really cool.

From montelepsy on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 13:04:38

Why yes I did. I was around 10 years old when we visited there again. My most vivid memory was spraining my ankle.

From Lucia on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 13:09:35

Hmmm... maybe I should celebrate with a McDonalds milkshake? Any other suggestions? I already ride my bike on the mall every day and think about this great country, so there's not a lot of more patriotic things to do than that!

From kungfublonde on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 13:36:53

Are you wearing my shoes...?

From montelepsy on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 14:04:53

I'd go to Arlington and watch the Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for a while.

It's just a guy pacing back and forth and they change the guard every hour. But when you take into account what they go through to become and stay a guard and that they've keep watch 24/7 since 1937, it's moving.

From marion on Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 14:36:59

I'm with you Mike. I think I'd cry the whole time though. At my friends husbands funeral last week, the firefighters did the most amazing tributes. I have not been to a military funeral or a firefighter either and was in awe of the overwhelming respect and honor paid to Lin by his firemen brothers.
