I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

KBs and Abs class.  The filipinos on base had an All Saints' Day celebration and you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting something fried.  Lots of food. Happy day. :)

Ran to spin.  Abs right after. Kim, the instructor, decided to learn our names. Which is probably a bad thing, since now she can call us out in front of class if we're cheating or resting.  Ran back and enjoyed the cool weather.

Ran to Abs.  Kim was her usual cruel self.  On the run back I was passed by someone.  I thought to myself, "he shall not pass."   So I was wrong.  Really wrong.  But I got in a little pickup during my run back.

All it takes for me to feel like an uncoordinated out-of-shape meatbag is a little yoga.  I think I may have wrenched a few glands out of socket. 

This time the yoga man wore blue jean cutoffs over his spandex.  If his goal was to seem manlier, then he needs to re-adjust his goals.  And get a haircut.

Cal assessment was skipped last week due to pizza and a movie. 

Compared to two weeks ago:

Pullups went down 1

Situps up 6 (Only 8 away from my goal.  Thanks Kim!)

Pushups no change

What's with the Kettlebells Pavel!  They're making me much less awesome and my forearms are bruised.

Yoga is the art of trying to become a pretzel.  Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is, in my case, having someone actually make me into a pretzel. 

My execution for both is pretty similar.  Lots of unvoluntary noises (grunts and today I almost shrieked) and not listening to my body.

Even my stubble is sore from yesterday.   Not acutally the hairs, but my chin is tender.   Is it from all the groaning and pleading to make the pain end?  Will I end up with a buff jaw if I continue? 

Work had softball, bingo and karaoke for our day off.  I passed and did Cals, Spin, Abs and an easy run instead.

Super short and super slow run.  Ran pizza-laden to BJJ.  Today I was able to spar for the first time.  It was very tiring.  I won a match after a  guy tapped out  because he threw me and I landed on his face.  It was the only match I won, so I guess that will be my strategy from now on.

In addition to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, they also offer Muay Thai, which I started yesterday and have a fat lip from.  I wasn't even sparring.  Just holding a shield for someone to kick.  Apparently I held it too loose, allowing it and my own hand to travel and stop at my mouth.

I should probably stick to spin and abs.  Or develop my bingo and karaoke skills.

Very slow miles afterward.

First Abs, now yoga was cancelled! Did some downward facing dog and tried touching my toes.  But I need a lycra-wrapped coach for motivation. 

I'm due for my weekly Cal assessment, but I'm putting it off because... Just because I can.

Pullups down 5 from last week.  My arms felt like spaghetti.  Spaghetti with pain sauce.

Situps up 8 and a PR!  Maybe due to the rest from Abs being cancelled the day before.

Pushups no change.  Can you say plateau?

I'm not happy with the results.  I wonder what's going on.

Long-run Fri turned into took-a-long-time wog Fri.  Feeling a lot better though.

* Went to Burger King to get a Whopper today, but their credit card machine was down.  Why pay for a burger when the DFAC (dining facility) has them for free, you ask?  Because they weren't students of Mr Miyagi.  His particular bit of wisdom was "Man walk on road. Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk down middle, sooner or later, get squished just like grape."

Their hamburgers are in the middle.  Somewhere between beef and sawdust.  Squished beef and sawdust.  With a greenish tinge.

Went to my room to change into workout clothes to do my weekly assessment, but fell asleep instead.  Now it's the wee hours and I can't sleep.

Missed yoga.  Not just in a sense that I did not make it to class, but I really miss it.  Not as much as I miss Rachel and the girls though.

Got to videophone my girls :) 

The DFAC employees went out of there way to decorate.  I truly appreciated their attempt to make us feel at home.  Felt like I was in a elementary school with all the styrofoam cup and cut-up plastic plate decorations. 

Got some steriods for some foot pain (the reason for no mileage) I've experienced recently.  They knocked me out most of the afternoon.

Cals -  lots of rest between sets, because I deserve it.

Abs class - Kim didn't hurt me today.  Have my prayers been answered, is she becoming kindler and gentler?  We'll see Sat.

Lifecycle, because I showed up too late to get a bike at spin.  Spin is much more motivating than doing it by myself, but I was able to work up a good sweat.  Then late to a going-away (found out after I ate dinner), but the consequences worked out in my favor this time.  Ended up being treated for pizza.  A lot of pizza.  And a bit of squid.

Spent a half hour with Mr Yee.  He was in the desert doing Ab yoga in the sand.  With what he was wearing, I bet he was pretty uncomfortable.   I know, for different reasons than sand in my undies, I was.  I'm looking forward to doing yoga with my family in a couple weeks.  It's going to be good times :)

Everything went up.  Must be the steriods.  Or squid power.
