You're cool Mike! Is Thanksgiving as nasty as I imagine out there, or will it be tolerable? I love Thanksgiving!

From montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 10:02:39

I haven't had a Thanksgiving out here yet, but it won't come close to it with the family.

From marion on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 10:09:58

Not possible :( I am sure they aren't going to have much fun without you either! How many weeks until your home for Christmas?

From Burt on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 11:17:42

I hate getting sick. It's almost like starting all over for me.

From kungfublonde on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 12:03:07

I bet the rest was what you needed. :)

From kungfublonde on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 12:15:57

hey, I have a question. You were telling me about those whatever sit ups where you hook your ankles instead of your toes. But I don't ever hook my feet on anything. All the kinds I do either have my feet flat on the floor or up in the air.

From montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 12:44:21

Marion,

Less than 4 weeks :)

Burt,

Sometimes starting over's okay. Especially if you tracked the first time you had to start over and you're incremently better than before.

Hon,

The point of hooking your ankles and flexing your hamstrings and glutes is to release your hip flexors and make your abs do all the work. You're not just doing a crunch worth of movement. The movement is that of an old-fashioned situp. You bring your upper body up.

Google Janda situps and see what you can find.

From Lucia on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 14:20:04

Yaaaay! 4 weeks will go fast. If I could have my mouth shut for 4 weeks, you can handle 4 more weeks there... yeah, I know, not even comparable, right?

Glad to see you're feeling better!

From camille on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 14:31:12

how much time do you give yourself? (just asking because it seeks like you were kicking tail on all of them, just ran out of time).

From Montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:17:27

Camille,

I give myself a minute for pullups, two for situps and pushups with two minutes rest between. There's a test I'm preparing for and I use the criteria for it to do my assessments. If only I had a pool...

Lucia,

They're similiar in the fact that we can't wait until the four weeks are done :)

From Lucia on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:19:25

If only I had a million bucks... I'd buy you a pool - ha!

From camille on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:20:17

What's this test? Is it a military thing? or a personal thing?

From Montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:26:23

That would be very sweet of you Lucia. And when you win the Powerball, I'll remind you.

It's the Physical Abilities and Stamina Test (PAST). It's for the career field in the Air Force I'd like to try out for. They also test running and swimming, which is why I wish I had a pool.

From Teena on Thu, Nov 27, 2008 at 01:19:52

Hey Mike,

Hope you are feeling much much much better.

Btw ... I might do week one twice ... I want to get my form on the chinups (or if I can figure out the stinkin' hard pullups thing) better before I move forward. Or should I just move forward? My technique stinks big time!

From kungfublonde on Thu, Nov 27, 2008 at 01:48:48

I re-sent the message from my email to your email :) I switched my blog email to gmail and I started getting all kinds of updates... and then I switched back to my aol email. so no more updates, but I should still get the private messages. We'll see. Message me back and we can see.

From montelepsy on Thu, Nov 27, 2008 at 02:14:23

Thanks Teena, go forward when you're ready. There's no rush. Unless you count the pullup smackdown in Jan.

You can continue the program with the pushups and situps and while scaling back on your pullups.

Honey,

I can't keep up with the two addresses I have. I'm not going to open a gmail. It's pretty ironic how I can't juggle two email account and my career is based on multitasking. I'll send you a test PM.

From kungfublonde on Thu, Nov 27, 2008 at 02:32:08

No need to get a gmail. I was just letting you know it seems to be an aol thing.
