My first spin class was this morning.  I was thrown off by the ambiguity.  There were no numbers on the dial yet the instructor was shouting out all kinds.  It was a good experience overall, and I'll do it some more if I ever wake up that early again.

Early to bed, early to rise... does not apply to everyone, Ben.

No kidding! I hate going to bed and I hate getting out! I need to try a spinning class, but they are all at 5:15 AM- TOOOO early!!!!

From montelepsy on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 11:03:39

This one was also at 5:15. The bikes are stationary. They aren't going anywhere folks. They be there in the afternoon. What's with people?

Today was a fluke. I was jarred awake at 4:30 by a strange dream about a talking cat and overflowing toilets.

From marion on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 11:07:54

There must be a freaky mindset to "spinners" about biking at the (plese exceuse the white trash phrase) butt crack of dawn! Hey about your dream, did you call home to see if it was a "vision"? :D

From kungfublonde on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 14:40:19

Just last week I went to the 5 am spin class. I've never done it before and was hesitant, thinking it might be too much for me.

I ran into a friend walking in the the class and we ended up talking for 40 minutes. I was too embarrassed to walk in late, so I just did the glider for 30 minutes before I had to go home and get the kids ready for school.

It is totally not worth it to get up at 4:45 to go talk at the gym. Lesson learned; no more spin class for me.

Amen sister!!!

From montelepsy on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 19:02:31

Marion,

I texted home about my dream. I was also wearing those glove shoes. It was quite bizarre.

The shoes alone would have been silly enough.

From montelepsy on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 19:34:30

Honey, I kind of want those shoes. I could wear flip flops with them too.

From Burt on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 19:44:27

I've gone to spin class once. It was an intense workout!

From marion on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 19:47:10

Sounds really cute :)

From Teena on Sat, Oct 04, 2008 at 20:01:08

Talking cat, overflowing toilet, early spin class, glove shoes????

Do tell more!!

From montelepsy on Sun, Oct 05, 2008 at 01:43:14

I hit the highlights. I suppose the most significant part of the dream was my cat learned how to speak. In my dream, Rachel thought is was no big deal. I really worked hard to convey how spectacular and special it was. And she was like, so what? It was very frustrating. The fivefingers and the toilets just added to the ambiance.

From marion on Sun, Oct 05, 2008 at 14:48:59

Your cats don't talk?

From montelepsy on Sun, Oct 05, 2008 at 15:35:22

Only in my dreams...

If they really did, it would be pretty annoying.

"Pet me. Keep petting me. Don't stop, but don't pet me on that spot. Hey, why did you stop petting me?"

From kungfublonde on Mon, Oct 06, 2008 at 01:34:35

Are you talking about the kind of toe-socks Amanda has? The knee high, rainbow striped ones? Sure Hon, I can mail those to you. They will look great when you go wogging around base in your flip flops.

Only one of our cats talks, and she mostly just says, "I hate the dogs."

From montelepsy on Mon, Oct 06, 2008 at 11:12:02

Not socks. Shoes. Shoes that look like Amanda's socks. Rainbow shoes would be fine. That way no matter what color shorts I wear they'll match.

From kungfublonde on Mon, Oct 06, 2008 at 11:54:23

like surfers wear for really cold surfing?

From marion on Mon, Oct 06, 2008 at 14:45:23

Mike- you must wear those socks and take a pic and post it!!! It will be a major hit!!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 06, 2008 at 14:48:37

The "shoes" are called five fingers. :)

From montelepsy on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 14:37:39

Hon,

Kinda but they're not made of neoprene and they have all the toes not just a split toe.

Marion,

Maybe I will. I'll find a pair of rainbow gloves as well.

From Marion\ on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 14:41:58

There is usually a picture of them as an ad on the blog right below the log in. It rotates throughout the day.

Still got to love the rainbow socks and gloves!!!

From kungfublonde on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 18:05:37

The ads don't show up for me because of the browser I'm on. Sounds like I'm missing some exciting stuff...

What is the purpose of those shoes?

From Marion on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 18:09:22

To look rediculous!!! (did I spell that right? it looks so strange) Anyway, it is to protect your feet while you run barefooted, which strengthens your feet. But mostly you just look weird ;) I'm just kidding, may runners use them a lot. Sasha would be able to answer that question the best. He's the "blog guy" sasha.fastrunningblog.com Tarzan has them too. You could probably google fivefingers for more info too.

From montelepsy on Wed, Oct 08, 2008 at 12:56:45

You're not really barefoot, you're goofy-footed. Ha ha. Lame surf joke.
