Did you burn that many calories or eat that many calories???

Okay, so I can do all but the pull-ups. How can I modify that do you think?

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:15:20

DO NOT ANSWER THAT---I just read your answer on Teena's blog.

From montelepsy on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:21:54

I'm keeping track of how many I eat. I've been losing weight so I suppose I'm burning more. The flu helped.

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:23:36

I was thinking that was a killer workout to burn that many calories!! Wish I could eat that many calories and lose weight! Another reason men are the more favored species!

From montelepsy on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:29:45

I don't have my appetite back yet :)

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 15:32:22

Seriously, men suck.

From kungfublonde on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 16:41:21

we're putting you on double rations. Nothing makes me feel fatter or less feminine than outweighing the man of the house.

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 17:14:30

Rachel, I totally agree!! My husband has always been a big body building guy. BUT after several surgeries to replace broken parts, he joined me in running. Now he is so skinny it makes me sick! I kept telling him he was smaller than me and he denied it---but I had him try on my belt and he can get it two holes past where I can. Stupid man! However, he hates that he has gotten so skinny and lost a lot of his muscle, so I just rub it in to make me feel better.

From kungfublonde on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 00:08:26

I am glad I'm not the only one who feels that way! I love Mike no matter what, of course. But it makes me feel like I'm all big and gross if I'm the "big" one of the couple.

What if I wear a cape to counteract the skinniness?

From kungfublonde on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 00:49:19

What if you came home and ate a bunch of good food to counteract the skinniness? :)

From jefferey on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 01:43:00

Mike,

Here is a site that a buddy of mine does everyday. http://crossfit.com/

Looks pretty tough to do but sounds like you are kind of a beast like him.

From kungfublonde on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 01:44:56

Heyyyyy, my Uncle Mark does crossfit :)

(he's the crazy fast runner I've been talking about who lives in Portland).

From montelepsy on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 04:31:27

Kelli,

I think a lot of my calorie burn is due to annoying habits like fidgeting during the day and tossing and turning at night. Maybe you could incorporate those strategies to lose those last 5.

Hon,

I will definitely not hold back when I get home. They may not be able to fit me on the plane back, because I plan on eating so much.

Jefferey,

I think they have great ideas, fun too. I plan on incorporating some of their workouts when I finish the plan I'm on now.

From Kelli on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 10:11:45

My husband is a Crossfit junkie as well.

I will work on the fidgeting!

From marion on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 16:36:41

My main goal was to weigh less than David. I LOVE it!! If he ever started to exercise I'd be up a creek ;)

That is an amazing workout Mike!!!

From montelepsy on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 17:28:44

What's your husband's favorite WOD, Kelli?

I'm totally sold on that workout, Marion. I'd recommend it to anyone. I was able to get PRs on everthing after I finished it. When I started, the later weeks seemed daunting, but your body adapts. You just need to account for more time to finish your workouts:)

Your husband doesn't still swim? Or did he burnout in high school/college?

From marion on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 17:37:07

He loves to swim, but our local pool is only open in the summer and only open for lap swim while he is at work. I have been trying to convince him to go to the pool by his work on lunch to no avail. He is Mr stubborn, so anything I suggest is out, just because it came from me! OH well. :)

From Kelli on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 20:14:09

I had to call him in to tell me what that meant. I thought you were referring to a typo I had made or something.

First response: there are so many

After thinking: the Thanksgiving workout and mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, mile run.

Then, he just hit me, and said to tell you to so Bench 21, too (135 pound bench 21 times, sprint 400 meters, repeat for 5 cycles). And then "I combined the squat 800 with the bench 21 (135 pound bench 21 times, 185 pound squat 21 times, sprint 800 meters for 5 cycles)."

Wow, that is all gibberish to me! He wants to know what yours is.

From montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 03:12:36

Wow those sound hardcore. I haven't tried any yet. I just read them every now and then for inspiration. I did the above workout then found another progression for kettlebells. I stick to one thing at a time. I'm terrible at multi-tasking :)

I just wanted to know what Scott likes, so when I finish the KBs I'll have something to try.

From Kelli on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 13:04:45

Well, i am sure he would be thrilled to spew some more in your direction. He keeps telling me that I would lose my 5 pounds (now 8) if I would just do these workouts. But I never do what I am told...

From Montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:21:13

I'm going to try the Murhpy when my program's over. It's the 100, 200, 300 one. I have to figure out what an air squat is though.

If you don't do what you're told, how can you expect your students to listen to you? Just giving you a hard time :)

From Kelli on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 18:24:08

Everybody does what I say, I am scary mean!!!

You so do too know what an air squat is!
