I would like to be able to keep up with my daughter.  The one who runs xc, not the one who's going to change the world through dance.  Although I would like to be able to dance also, so I change that to me wanting to be able to keep up with both my daughters.

Steriods worked.  Inflammation's down.  Off crutches :)

Day 2 of periodization experiment.  Doing a little less so I don't sweat in my work clothes and added pushups to the mix.

BJJ and chipped my front tooth.  Curses.

Madeline can do a pullup!  Ballet builds brute strength in slim packages, but I think I'll stick to yoga.

you are FULL of excitement! Dang- sorry about the tooth!

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:38:14

Ohhhh no! I'll have to lose my hopes of seeing a picture of you in white tights and a pink tutu?

From Burt on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:39:41

Good news and bad news. Oh well.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:40:42

What's BJJ?

From montelepsy on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 13:48:38

Marion,

The tooth will just make me look more rugged. I think I'll get an eyepatch next.

Lucia,

Don't lose hope, I've got my eye on Jon A's tutu run. Whatever it's called.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I just go to get beat up and show off my bruises at work.

Burt,

No movie quote? Is something the matter?

From Burt on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:17:39

I just couldn't think of one to go along with the comments. So here's one out of the blue:

"That's Governor Menalaous 'Pass the Biscuits" Pappy O'Daniel. And he'd sure appreciate it if you ate his farina and voted him a second term."

From kungfublonde on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:20:01

you chipped a tooth??

From montelepsy on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:32:12

That's more like it, Burt. Happy B-day by the way.

Hon,

You can't tell unless you feel it. It's bugging me, but I'm not freaking out like last time.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:35:05

I hear you... I have 4 teeth that broke in half in the accident that are driving me crazy - but they're bottom teeth so nobody can see them but me. You just can feel them with your tongue, right? since it's so sensitive to the touch, it can make a tiny crack feel like the grand canyon!

From montelepsy on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:43:25

Ouch. What do they do with broken teeth? Are they cemented together or what?

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:48:41

I don't know... I can't quite open my mouth enough to go to the dentist yet, so I'll have to wait two more weeks to see her, then she'll tell me... they broke in a weird way, it's like some slices of the different tooth were taken out with a potato peeler or a hammer and a nail... They don't hurt, just feel very pointy and leave holes all over the place. But hey, at least it wasn't the front teeth or anything too noticeable!

From montelepsy on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:53:52

That's the way to look at the positive!

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 14:56:43

Always! It was the FIRST thing I thought about right after I fell off my bike and spit out some blood and tooth pieces: "Please don't let it be the front teeth, please please please!" and you could hear the "sigh" of relief all the way in California once I realized the front teeth were ok...

Back to you: you've got to do the tu-tu run!!!

From montelespy on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 15:26:48

How did you break your back teeth while avoiding breaking your front teeth? That's quite a feat! You must have amazing protect-my-front-teeth reflexes.

From Lucia on Thu, Dec 04, 2008 at 15:32:11

Well, I broke my bottom canines and the two teeth beside them... but I've been wondering that myself - If you could see the way they broke too, it is truly mind-buggling. I think my dentist is going to be totally puzzled. My tooth angel was protecting me, I guess :)
