Sick as in a cold? How's the neck?

From montelepsy on Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 11:52:46

I'm thinking flu. My neck feels great. I was delerious all last night. I kept thinking about work and thinking how I mustn't forget to arrange my pillows and blankets correctly in order to finish off a technical evaluation.

The blankie game strikes again!

Yeah for not as sick! CRAP about the flu! Stomach or influenza? Both are lousy but the stomach is done a lot faster ;) Hang in there! And no running with the stomach flu is the only way to go!

From Sasha Pachev on Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 16:36:01

A little bit of running with the stomach flu can be good sometimes - makes you throw up so you can live with an empty stomach while it is not digesting. The best thing for stomach flu, though, is just not to eat until you feel like fruit, then eat fruit, if you are not throwing it up, move on to harder stuff.

I don't know Sasha, I tried running with the stomach flu and felt VERY faint. I turned around at mile 1.5 because I did not want to turf it. I was guessing that dehydration from the loss of fluids was the culprit for the "faint-ness." I should have known running would be bad, as every time I stood up I felt like I was going to black out. I have low blood pressure anyway and any sort of dehydration lends to dizziness.

I don't think Mike has access to decent fruit there. Sounds like just a lot of nasty cafeteria food. We do what we can to mail him good stuff, but the *really* good stuff isn't mail-friendly.

Plus Mike said this is the kind of sick where he's sticking close to the latrine. :(

Any kind of fruit juice, or Powerade/Gatorade?

From montelepsy on Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 22:42:22

Hon,

It was the blankie game. Blankie solitare and I kept losing :(

Marion, Sasha,

I've been eating bananas; drinking gatorade and theraflu for the past 2 days :) Things are getting better. I may run tonight if I'm feeling it.
